Why was I assessed a fee for the Compliance Program?
This fee supports the educational, verification resources, and compliance reimbursement program that we provide, as well as the costs associated with meeting our compliance requirements as a provider of electronic payment processing services.
Your payment of a Compliance Fee does not in any way imply, insure or provide compliance with PCI or FACTA requirements. Merchants are required to take the steps necessary to ensure they are in compliance with PCI DSS and FACTA based on their specific payment acceptance procedures and understand that failure to do so makes them vulnerable to the associated risks.
How will the fee for the Compliance Program be charged? What if I have more than one account?
All of our merchants receive these services at no additional charge during the first year of their processing relationship with us, and these services may be accessed immediately. On the 13th month of processing, and from that point forward, merchants will be assessed a fee of $4.95* per month.
For a customer with two to five accounts the fee will be decreased to $2.50 per account. For six or more accounts the fee will be $1.25 per account.
What is PCI DSS?
The Payment Card Industry (PCI), led by bancard associations (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc..), has created the Data Security Standard (DSS) to protect cardholder data from being compromised. The DSS standard applies to all merchants and acquirers.
How do I learn more about PCI DSS?
More information about PCI DSS is available from the PCI Security Standards Council.
What is FACTA?
The Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act of 2003 (FACTA) added new sections to the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, intended primarily to help consumers fight the growing crime of identity theft.
How do I learn more about FACTA?
You can learn more about FACTA guidlines by visiting the Federal Trade Commission web site.
